A novel by Peter Vassilopoulos, the author of popular local cruising guides. It is based on his early years into boating, scuba diving for lobsters and exploring shipwrecks in the vicinity of Cape Town, South Africa. It deals with some aspects of politics at the time with a mixed race couple attempting to avoid the authorities and of a plot to help Nelson Mandela escape from prison on Robben Island. The book reflects on the career of the main character who is involved with the world's first heart transplant family and surgeon as well as with the famous golf player of the time, Gary Player.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Peter Vassilopoulos is a long-time boating author and authority on the waterways, islands and installations on the coast. He has a background in radio and TV news editing, magazine publishing and book production. He and his wife, Carla, spend summers boating the west coast.
